Let’s Forgive

Living a Lifestyle of Forgiveness
Matthew 6:12… “And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors.”
It has been many years since Dr. Quantebush phoned me but still his words are as clear today as then. With a resounding southern drawl and the seriousness of a father instructing a son, he said, “Ken, forgiveness is the key to apostolic authority.” Dr. Quantebush was right.

I’m interested in anything that produces peace and living a lifestyle of forgiveness brings a lot of peace. Consider just a few reasons:

When we forgive we relinquish ourselves to the demand to get even. This creates an incredible atmosphere of peace.

When we forgive we leave the results to God and God alone. Again, this creates an incredible sense of peace.

When we forgive we are enabled to hope for future reconciliation. And once again, we can rest in the assurance that God is at work even when we are unaware.

In short… when we live in forgiveness we live in peace, freedom and great power. So today, extend forgiveness. You too will discover as I did, Dr. Quantebush was right, “Forgiveness is the key to apostolic authority.”

Be blessed,

Pastor Ken
