As I re read John 20 I see that Jesus twice told them "peace". Then Jesus said he was sending them just as He had been sent. No wonder He said "peace". Jesus was sent as a sacrifice. As one who chose to be a servant rather than a king. As one who lived his life as a pilgrim. Not to own or attain but rather to give. The antithesis of our american culture and mindset. I am desperate to walk in this new wineskin. And it is "new" for me. I want to respond fully to that Ken. I want to be known as one of the sent ones. If only I could abandon my desires. My need to achieve. Pentecost is but a few days away. I want to be found in the upper room, not the outer court. This journey to Pentecost study is a fantastic idea!
